ESI performed a study for this facility in which various options were considered to bring the existing pulverized coal-fired boilers into upcoming EPA NOx regulation compliance. The study included an economic and technical analysis of all viable NOx reduction systems including: low NOx burners, NOx ports, selective non-catalytic reduction and selective catalytic reduction, as well as a recommended path forward.
