Engineering Study & Feasibility Analysis
Dynegy – Danskammer Generating Station
Fly Ash Carbon Burn-Out Facility
Owner: Dynegy Northeast Generation, Inc.
Project Location: Newburgh, New York
Project Completion: May 1999
Project Description:
ESI was contracted by Progress Materials, Inc., to perform a study to prepare the firm price and initial facility design for a Carbon Burn-Out Facility for Central Hudson Gas & Electric at Danskammer Generating Station. The facility was later sold to Dynegy Northeast Generation, Inc. The study was requested by Central Hudson Gas & Electric to be incorporated as part of the sales package for the facility. The study included the preliminary design and specification of the major equipment; compilation of the CBO facility’s installation costs, including integration into the existing generating station’s operations; and boundary limit needs from the host facility. Once the pricing was complete and feasibility for the specific site proved, the information was included as part of the entire plant sale package. ESI also assisted the customer through the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) process.
